The Mix Tape: Minus the Bear - Infinity Overhead

Minus the Bear - Infinity Overhead
—Written by Grant Goodman
Put your earbuds in or wear your most expensive headphones when you listen to the latest from Minus the Bear. It is a ten course chef’s tasting—with wine pairings—for your ears. There is a sonic richness to be found on every track. Whether it’s yet another insane guitar lick from Dave Knudson in “Cold Comfort” or a slip of saxophone at the end of “Lonely Gun,” there are a thousand tiny details waiting to be discovered.
“Eyes and Lies” displays the best of the band’s efforts. It pulses, churns, and bounces in waves. There’s a blend of synth and guitar, split between the left and right channel, that’s simply unbelievable. Keep an ear out for the lead guitar during the last forty five seconds, marvel at how awesome it is, and then realize that the entire album is full of moments like this one.
